Granberry Counseling Centers Staff
Kathy Eichelberger has been serving as Director of the Granberry Counseling Centers since July 2009. Kathy has been a pastor’s wife for over thirty years and served in many leadership roles in the local church. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has a passion to help people who are hurting and going through difficult life circumstances. God has called Kathy to minister to people through counseling while at the same time encouraging them to develop a deep intimate relationship with Christ. Kathy completed a Bachelor’s degree, a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Doctor of Ministry degree in pastoral counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Robert F. (Fred) Selby, Jr. has been Associate Director of Granberry Counseling Centers since November 2006. He is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and as a Professional Counselor. Fred is the Granberry counselor serving in Baton Rouge and Covington. He is certified in Thanatology (death, dying and bereavement), a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, and is Board Certified in Bereavement Trauma. He is also a Certified Trainer for Independent Living Skills for Adolescents.

In 2009, Fred was appointed by Louisiana’s Governor to the Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners and the Marriage and Family Advisory Committee and to the Commission for Marriage and Family.

Fred graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree and he received a Doctor of Divinity degree from California Graduate School of Theology. He also graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in Psychology and Counseling. (EMDR Trained)

Amy Butler is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. She attended Baylor University where she received her undergraduate degree. She then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where she received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and her Master’s Degree in Religious Education. Amy worked in Texas for several years before moving back home to Louisiana.

Amy works as the Granberry counselor in both Minden and Shreveport. She has been with Granberry since 2002. During that time, she has served as interim director through two transition periods. Amy works with individuals and families as they work toward healthy relationships. (EMDR Trained)

Belinda Edwards has a heart for helping people who are struggling with life issues. She has a desire to help individuals and families move to a stronger relationship with God. Belinda is a gifted and compassionate counselor. She has life experience as well as a master’s degree in counseling from Northwestern State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a member of the Louisiana Association of Substance Abuse Counselors and Trainers, the Louisiana Counseling Association, the American Psychological Association, and the Family Mediation Council. Belinda is the Granberry counselor serving in Leesville. (EMDR Certified)

William (Bill) Riddle is a classically-trained strategic, systemic therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor who understands that all behavior makes sense, given its context. Having worked for years as a student pastor, Riddle is classically trained in treating adolescents and helping families through difficult situations and turbulent times, and in recognizing the liberating power of God’s loving grace and forgiveness. He has acquired valuable skills and training in helping people through the grief process; addictive disorders; marriage therapy; financial management; and establishing life goals and dreams.

He attended Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, and received a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree in 2007 and a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2011 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. (EMDR Trained)

Dr. Riddle researched and published his dissertation entitled, “The Interpersonal Family Dynamics of a Modern Political Family: An Interpretive Biography of Governor Mike Huckabee.”

Valerie Ramsey was transplanted to the Monroe area in 2005. Most of her time is filled with chasing around two small children and serving in her home and church. She received a bachelor’s degree in Church Ministries with an emphasis in Counseling/Psychology, a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Harding University, and has completed the coursework for a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family therapy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Valerie worked at the Children’s Advocacy Center serving clients and their families who have survived sexual abuse. She has been trained in Adventure-based learning (aka experiential learning/counseling) and facilitated groups through low and high ropes course elements. She has been a leader in Children’s Ministries for many years. She has a heart to work alongside parents to encourage and equip them to pass along their faith to their children in a purposeful way.

Valerie utilizes a solution-oriented approach and believes God will guide both her and the clients in collaboratively resolving difficulties and healing. (EMDR Trained)

Sharon “Sherry” Hinkson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Southeastern LA University and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults, children, couples and families in individual, couples and family counseling. Her passion is to work with those who are hurting by being allowed the privilege of walking alongside them on their present journey, guiding them to grow in their knowledge of God, to experience His faithfulness and increase their faith and trust in Him.

Sherry holds a certification in PREPARE-ENRICH, a comprehensive assessment and skill-building program for pre-marital and marital counseling. She is trained in Positive Parenting with a Plan: FAMILY RULES. She is also trained as a Multi-Systemic Therapist, a strengths based intensive home based counseling model that involves working with all systems affecting children’s behavior. Sherry worked eight years with the CASA and CAC programs advocating for children of abuse and/or neglect. She and her husband of 31 years were also foster parents and are adoptive parents. As a result of the latter three experiences she has garnered training in interventions for neglected, emotionally, physically and /or sexually abused children and their families. (EMDR Trained)

Paula Sheppard loves working with children, teens, and families. She is gifted in discerning individuals’ needs and providing practical, biblical solutions. Paula has gained great experience through years of professional practice and practical living. She has taught public school and served as a school counselor. She has attained a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Louisiana. (EMDR Trained)

Prior to joining Granberry, she had her own private practice in Christian Counseling through Sheppard Counseling, LLC. Paula has been a pastor's wife and served in many leadership roles. She has been involved in rescuing broken families through personal ministry on multiple occasions. She and her husband have two married sons and five grandchildren.

The passion of Paula's heart is to come alongside hurting people and seek solutions in God's Word. She believes that lives can be transformed and seemingly unattainable goals can be reached. Paula says, “Nothing is too hard for God." (EMDR Trained)

Elizabeth Vetrano is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has much experience working with children of all ages and their parents. She has an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and 21 years experience as an elementary school teacher before receiving her Master's in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is experienced in using directed and non-directed play therapy. Mrs. Vetrano is married, has two children and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Vetrano approaches counseling from a cognitive-behavioral perspective in that pattern of thoughts and actions are explored in order to better understand the client's problems and to develop solutions. She works with clients in a variety of formats including individually, as couples and families.

Skylar Artigue is a graduate student counselor intern earning a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, in which she will graduate December of 2015. Skylar has been trained to work with individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents and groups in a multitude of counseling theories including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Parent Child Relationship Training, and Trauma. Skylar works from a Christian worldview and views the counseling process holistically. She desires for her clients to heal emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Skylar received her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Communication Studies in 2012. She has worked in a number of different ministry positions throughout college. Skylar believes that counseling is the vocation which God has called her to, and she plans to be equipped in every way to help her clients meet their goals. (EMDR Part I trained)
